I was so excited when the Hall family reached out. They were visiting family in Washington for a brief time and we were able to squeeze in a family photo session while they were here, to celebrate their little one’s first birthday! The location they selected is one of my favorite spots in the Olympia area. I often have clients who travel quite a distance for this location because it is simply so wonderful! This hidden little riverbed is unique in that there is a rocky beach area and a sandy area. The water is lovely, and the sun sets just behind the tree line, creating gorgeous, golden light. Parking is convenient here, with a short, 5 minute walk to where I love to take photos. There is a playground nearby too, which means you can reward your little ones with some playtime after your session – a favorite strategy of mine for my own family photos. If your little ones enjoy the water and sand, this is an excellent location to consider for your family photos!
