So many brides have dreamed of a luxury, European destination wedding their entire lives, and just when they were prepared to board a plane and say ‘I do’ on the steps of a French Chateau with their nearest and dearest, Covid-19 turned their dreams upside down. Traveling outside of the country and having their guests along for an event as momentous as a wedding day is almost impossible for the pandemic-era bride.
As we saw our brides canceling, postponing, and completely reimagining their wedding days through this painful process, we dreamed of a way to bring their fairytale wedding dreams to fruition while taking into account the considerations that this unprecedented time requires. That was the goal and inspiration behind this luxury micro-wedding editorial; a European-Inspired Destination Wedding right here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States.
There are few venues in the country that offer the appeal found here at Lakewold Gardens. This 10-acre non-profit estate garden is like a little slice of heavenly France juxtaposed right in the middle of the beautifully evergreen Pacific Northwest. The Wagner House boasts European-inspired architecture and design elements throughout the interior and exterior of the home and is surrounded by intentionally designed, incredibly alluring gardens. From the wisteria-covered pergola that stretches the length of the house to the secret library courtyard, Lakewold Gardens is a hidden gem in the state of Washington and a breath of fresh European-inspired air!
